Tom Thumb Radio Camera

Made in Boston Mass. by the Automatic Radio Mfg. Co.; c1948. This camera/radio contained an early style AM portable tube radio which ran on a 45 volt dry cell battery and two D cells. The top contained a plastic twin lens reflex camera, with a 7.5cm f5 Maestar lens. It took 828 size film. The shutter had an instant setting and a time setting. The body was made of wood and had a red and gray covering. The radio actually had nice reception even by modern standards. The camera was huge and any kid that had to wear this around his neck for long would be bent over for life. Can you say scoliosis.
